Our programs' mission
To provide education, access and resources for the prevention and early detection of diabetic retinopathy, to prevent blindness and vision impairment.
Our program provides low cost and effective retinal screening via partnership with San Diego County community clinics to prevent blindness due to complications of diabetes. Today, one-half of all people with diabetes will develop some degree of retinal damage during their lifetimes, and 10 percent of these will become legally blind after having diabetes for 20 years
